Mangaluru: A Gulbarga advocate monetarily awarded the noble and humane gestures of two individuals, who did not think twice while rushing to the aid of Deepak Rao and Basheer. The advocate sent two cheques of Rs 50,000/- to be presented to them as a token of his appreciation for the act that upheld humanity at times of crisis.
The cheques were handed over to Abdul Mazeed and Shekar Kulal by DCP law and order Hanumantharaya and ADC Kumar at the DC office here on January 30.
The advocate, Vilas Kumar who came to know of the noble deeds of these two individuals through the media, contacted the district administration informing them of his intention of honoring and offering them Rs 50,000 reward each, said ADC Kumar while speaking to the mediapersons here.
Katipalla resident Abdul Mazeed, a mobile SIM distributor was the one to rush to the rescue of his employee Deepak Rao when he was brutally hacked by a gang during the day on January 3. While Mazeed rushed Deepak to a hospital, he breathed his last on the way.
Basheer who was assaulted to avenge Deepak’s murder on January 3 night was spotted lying in a pool of blood by Shekar Kulal, a resident of Akash Bhavan and an ambulance driver by profession. He immediately rushed to Basheer’s aid and with the help of his colleague shifted him to a hospital and informed the police about the incident. Basheer, however passed away at the hospital few days later.
